Sri Lanka

A new country for me both for travels and postcards, so I sent one to mum. As usual :)

Sri Lanka spices

Sri Lanka, an island nation in South Asia, enchants with its diverse landscapes, from tropical beaches to lush rainforests and ancient ruins. Rich in culture and history, it's home to UNESCO sites like Sigiriya and historic cities like Kandy. Tea plantations and wildlife sanctuaries add to its allure.

Postcards from country New South Wales

Mostly from the family collection, but also from travelling friends.

From the fertile plains of the Riverina to the rolling hills of the Hunter Valley, exploration reveals agricultural abundance, scenic beauty, and the resilient spirit of rural communities shaping the state's character.

Found Postcards. Fond Memories.

As the tribulations of the COVID crisis continue, those of us stuck at home might find themselves clearing out the dark, dusty recesses of the cupboard or writing desk.

All too often those mysterious nooks and crannies reveal long-lost treasures. Long dried-out ballpoint pens stolen during a forgotten hotel stay, boarding passes from defunct airlines or postcards from friends and family who haven't had a Christmas card since before the fall of the Berlin Wall.

For your amusement, I've found a few cards that remind me of times gone by. Perhaps even one from you.

Sent home to my daughter from Soweto. 1999.

Famous planes of the RAF

These cards procured from visits to museum gift shops, sent from generous pals and even from junk shops. Makes me recall my time making scores of Airfix plastic model kits in my childhood and cementing my lifelong interest in aviation. Here's the full album.
