A new country for me both for travels and postcards, so I sent one to mum. As usual :)
Sri Lanka, an island nation in South Asia, enchants with its diverse landscapes, from tropical beaches to lush rainforests and ancient ruins. Rich in culture and history, it's home to UNESCO sites like Sigiriya and historic cities like Kandy. Tea plantations and wildlife sanctuaries add to its allure.

| The fort has two major gates, both huge portcullises. The Main Gate entrance which is on the northern or landward side of the fort is very heavily fortified. The Clock Tower built in 1882 and the Galle Lighthouse mentioned above. A more recent addition to this end is the 18m (59 feet) high Galle Lighthouse which was built in 1938. |
